Counter-Strike 1.6 Review: Counter-Strike 1.6 is a tactical 1st person shooter video game. It was developed by Valve Corporation which originated from a Half-Life modification by Minh Gooseman Le & Jess Cliffe. By the 4th beta version, the Valve Software, are the developers who created Half-Life, they began assisting in the development of Counter-Strike. In the year 2000, Valve bought the rights to Counter-Strike, & would publish the title for Microsoft Windows that year, & later in 2003 for the Xbox. The Mac OS X & Linux ports were available in January 2013. Counter-Strike has been expanded into a series since its original release, which currently includes the Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive & Counter Strike: Source. Counter-Strike pits a team of terrorists against a team of counter terrorists in a series of rounds. Each round is won by either eliminating the opposing force or completing the mission objective. According to GameSpy, the Counter-Strike was the most played Half-Life modification in terms of players in the year 2008. By August, 2011, the Counter-Strike franchise sold over 25 million units. In Counter-Strike, a player can choose to play as one of 8 different default character models. The players are generally given a few seconds before the round begins to prepare & buy equipment, during which they can't attack or move. The player can return to the buy area within a set amount of time to buy more equipment.
