Dead Space 3 Game Review: Dead Space 3 is stylized as DEAD SPACE 3. It is a 3rd person shooter video game. It was developed by Visceral Games & published by Electronic Arts. The game was announced at E3 2012 on 4th June, 2012 & released internationally in the February of year 2013. It is the sequel to Dead Space 2 & the 3rd main entry in the Dead Space series. The game is primarily set on the frozen planet of Tau Volantis, & follows protagonists Isaac Clarke & John Carver as they attempt to end the Necromorph threat. The game pits returning protagonist Isaac Clarke & new co-op character Sgt. John Carver against the Necromorphs, the human corpses reanimated by the signal of an alien artifact named as the Marker. The RIG (Resource Integration Gear) suit returns, which uses holographic displays projected from the suit & weapons of players to display health & ammo count, respectively. In the vacuum areas, a timer appears on the the right shoulder of player, which indicates how much oxygen that character has left before they suffocate. Carver & Isaac can roll & take cover to avoid attacks. It is a new ability which was described by a Visceral Games developer as essential, as it felt terrible not to have it & that they have been making Isaac more responsive. The cover system is also described as Organic in nature. Sales of Dead Space 3, having fallen 26.6% & this information tallied with EA Labels president Frank Gibeau's comment that "In general we are thinking about how we make this a more broadly appealing franchise, because you need to get to audience sizes of around 5 million to really continue to invest in an IP like Dead Space."
