Devil May Cry Review: Devil May Cry is a series of 5 action hack & slash video games with a modern dark fantasy & gothic setting. Devil May Cry series was developed by Capcom & created by Hideki Kamiya. The game originally intended to be a sequel in Capcom's Resident Evil series, it was such a radical departure from the series' style that it was developed into a new property entirely. Devil May Cry series centers on the main character Dante's goal of avenging his mother's murder by exterminating demons. The Devil May Cry's gameplay consists of heavy combat scenes in which the player has to attempt to extend long chains of attacks while avoiding damage to exhibit stylized combat; this element along with time & the amount of items collected & used are taken under consideration when grading the performance of the player. Devil May Cry series has been a success with the 1st 3 games selling multiple million copies & being awarded the "Platinum Title" award by Capcom. Its success has led to the creation of comic books, an anime series, novelizations, collectibles, guides, publications, & a variety of action figures. High-definition remaster of the 3 PlayStation 2 titles was released for PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360 in 2012. During the year 2010 edition of the Tokyo Game Show, the Capcom revealed a new game, named DmC: Devil May Cry. This new game is developed by Ninja Theory & is a reboot of the series.
