The Cave Game Review: The Cave is an adventure video game which has been developed by Double Fine Productions launched by Sega. The game was released in the month of January, 2013. It is available on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 & Wii U. Game consoles were released via their respective storefronts and on Steam for Microsoft Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. The game was actually  created by Ron Gilbert. It has built on an idea that nearly 20 years about a cave that lures people into it to explore their darker personality traits. The Cave borrows concepts from his earlier 1987 game "Maniac Mansion" in which the player selects 3 different characters from a cast of 7 to explore the Cave initially. Many of the game's puzzle requires the 3 characters to work in co-ordination to complete it, while some puzzles are specific to the unique abilities of a character. In this manner, the Cave can only be fully explored through multiple play-throughs.

The Cave Story: The story of the Cave, is based on a Magical talking cave that is voiced by Stephen Stanton, with a labyrinthine set of tunnels within it. About 7 characters are there, drawn from across time & space, harboring dark secrets, have come to the Cave, believing  that they can "Learn something about themselves & who they might become", stated by Gilbert. For an example, a knight character seeks a treasured amulet, encountered a princess who possess the amulet in distress from a dragon, instead of coming to the princess's rescue, he lures the dragon into eating her & recovers the amulet for himself when the dragon cough it up. At the beginning of the game, the player selects 3 of the seven characters, which are locked to for the remainder of the game. Players can restart a new game to select a different trio of characters. All the characters are based on stereotypical figures, such as a pair of orphans, hillbilly, and a scientist.
