World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Review: World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Review is often referred to as WotLK, or Wrath. It is the 2nd expansion set for the massively multiplayer online role-playing game following The Burning Crusade, adding a substantial amount of content to the game world, including the Northrend continent, home of the eponymous Lich King, & a new character "hero" class. The game was announced on the first day of BlizzCon 2007, 3 August, 2007. World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King was released on 13 November, 2008, selling over 2.8 million copies within the first twenty four hours of availability, making it the fastest selling computer game of all time, and beating the record set by the previous World of Warcraft expansion The Burning Crusade, which has sold 2.4 million within its first 24 hours. Later, it lost its rank as number one after the 3rd expansion set, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, released on 7 December, 2010, & had sold over 3.3 million copies within its first 24 hours on the market. The game is set in a fictional world known as Azeroth & later extending to a further world called Outland. On 14 November, 2008, Northrend, frigid cap of Azeroth, was added. In World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King the players design a character to play based on a number of starting options, like the race of character & its type or class. The gameplay primarily consists of completing quests & dungeon runs, & other in-game activities, to obtain rewards which allow one to improve one's character & equipment in order to be able to complete the more difficult quests & dungeon runs.
