Dark Age of Camelot Game Review: Dark Age of Camelot is also abbreviated as DAoC. It is a 3D medieval fantasy MMORPG, and released on 10th of October, 2001 in North America & in Europe shortly after through its partner GOA. Dark Age of Camelot celebrated its 10th anniversary in the year 2011. Dark Age of Camelot  combines Arthurian lore, Norse mythology & Irish Celtic legends with a dash of high fantasy. The game is set in the period after King Arthur's death & his kingdom has split into 3 parts which are in a constant state of war with each other. Dark Age of Camelot includes both Player versus Environment (PvE) & Realm versus Realm (RvR) combat. The players can choose to adventure alone or join groups. The players may also join battlegroups, which has been formed so all members are able to get completion of credit in large scale Player versus Environment encounters & for communication purposes in RvR. Player verses Player combat takes the form of Realm versus Realm, a term which Dark Age of Camelot invented. The RvR is restricted to the zone New Frontiers where action ranges from massive battles to one verses one fights. The players are awarded realm points for each enemy realm player they kill. When the playerr gain a certain number of realm points, he gains a Realm Rank. and while gaining Realm Ranks, the player gains Realm Ability Points, one for each rank the player gain. The players are able to purchase with their realm abilities points certain skills unique to their class. When the player participates in RvR combat, it is strictly voluntary in Dark Age of Camelot & free-for-all PvP only exists on a dedicated server.
