Far Cry 3 Review: Far Cry 3 is an open world 1st-person shooter video game. It was developed mainly by Ubisoft Montreal in conjunction with Ubisoft Massive, Ubisoft Shanghai and Ubisoft Red Stone & published by Ubisoft for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Far Cry 3 was originally set for release on 4 September, 2012 in North America & 6 September in Europe; though, it was subsequently delayed until 29 November, 2012 for Australia, 30 November for Europe, and 4 December for North America due to the developers tweaking the final release version of Far Cry 3. Stand-alone expansion titled Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon was released on 30 April, 2013. The game is set on a tropical island somewhere in the vicinity of the Malay Archipelago, between Pacific & Indian Oceans. After a vacation goes awry, the protagonist Jason Brody must save his friends, who have been kidnapped by the pirates & escape from the island & its unhinged inhabitants.
Far Cry 3 Gameplay: Far Cry 3 features role-playing game elements including skill trees, experience points, & a crafting system. In the game, the player has the ability to take cover behind objects to break enemies' lines of sight & also to peek around & over cover and blindfire. The player has the ability to perform silent "takedowns" by performing melee attacks from below, above or close behind. Jason Vandenberghe, Far Cry 3's narrative director, has said that the story mode map is around 10 times larger than in the game's previous installments. The players are given the ability to survey & plan out their attacks with stealth takedown combinations & also tag enemies with the camera in order to track their movement once they break the player's line of sight.
