It was developed by games developer Rockstar North in the United Kingdom & published by Rockstar Games. San Andreas is the 3rd 3D game in the Grand Theft Auto video game franchise, the 5th original console release & 8th game overall. San Andreas was originally released for the PlayStation 2 in the month of October 2004, San Andreas has been released for the Xbox & Microsoft Windows in the month of June, 2005, then it was released on Xbox Originals for the Xbox 360 in the month of December 2008, then the game was released to the PlayStation Store on PSN for the PS3 in the month of December,2012 & has received wide acclaim & high sales figures on all platforms. San Andreas is the best selling game of all time on PlayStation 2. The game was made available on Steam on 4th of January, 2008, & on Intel-based Macs running a minimum of Mac OS X 10.6.6 in the month of September, 2011. San Andreas is set in the semi-fictional state of San Andreas based on California & Nevada, which contains 3 metropolitan cities: San Fierro is based on San Francisco, Los Santos is based on Los Angeles, & the Las Venturas is based on Las Vegas. Set in the year 1992, San Andreas revolves around the gang member Carl Johnson "CJ" returning home from Liberty City of San Andreas Los Santos, after learning of the murder of his mother. He finds his old friends & family in disarray. CJ gradually unravels the plot behind his mother's murder over the course of the game.
