Need For Speed The Run System Game Review: The Run is a racing video game and the 18th title in the Need for Speed franchise. Need For Speed: Th Run was developed by EA Black Box. It was published by Electronic Arts. The 3DS and Wii versions were developed by Firebrand Games, the team behind Undercover & Nitro. The game was released in North America on 15th of November, 2011 and in Europe on 18th of November, 2011. In the game, players are participating in a race from San Francisco to New York, with stops via Denver, Las Vegas, & many other locations, which makes it the 1st title in the series to use real locations. There are over 300 km of track, 3 times more than Hot Pursuit, making The Run the biggest Need For Speed game. The Run uses the DICE's Frostbite 2 engine, making it the 1st non-shooter & one of the 1st console title to use the engine. This engine provides visuals & car physics. The Run features quick time events, exiting their car & traveling on foot. There are branching outcomes n some sections, so if the player mangles a certain button press, they wll get another chance to pull through. The Run also added a new feature Gas stations. These stations enable the player to change their vehicle during a race to any other vehicle on the same tier as theirs. During the game, the player can choose a body kit & new paint colors for their vehicle. Some vehicles provided in the game, like Signature Edition or NFS The Run vehicles, can't have a different paint or body kit installed. However, driving one's vehicle into a gas station causes you to slow down to 50 mph upon exiting the gas station, & to fall behind by about 10 seconds.
