Operation Thunderstorm Review: Operation Thunderstorm was the code-name for the Singapore Armed Forces's operation to contain refugees fleeing South Vietnam following the fall of Saigon in 1975.

Operation Thunderstorm Objectives: Operation Thunderstorm's primary objective is to contain, quarantine & prevent refugees from entering & staying in Singapore.

Operation Thunderstorm Execution: The Republic of Singapore Navy & the Police Coast Guard was tasked to intercept & detain all Singapore bound refugee boats. The Quarantine areas were set up along the beaches of Marine Parade & a SAF Field Hospital was deployed to Bedok Jetty to provide first aid & other essential medical services. The Navy has sent its technicians & engineers to inspect & repair the refugee boats. Water, food, fuel oil & other provisions were given in order to ensure the departure of the vessels. A large variety of weapons were also confiscated from the refugee boats.
