Tomb Raider Game Review: Tomb Raider is an action & adventure video game. Tomb Raider was published by Square Enix. The game is the 5th title developed by Crystal Dynamics in the Tomb Raider franchise. As the 1st entry in a new Tomb Raider continuity, the game, Tomb Raider is a reboot that emphasises the reconstructed origins of the culturally influential lead character Lara Croft. The game was released on March 5, 2013 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. After the game, Tomb Raider: Underworld released in 2008, the Crystal Dynamics began development of Tomb Raider soon after. The team decided to completely reboot the series, and established the origins of Lara Croft for the second time, following Tomb Raider: Legend. The game is set on Yamatai, an island from which Lara Croft must save her friends & escape, while being hunted down by a malevolent cult. The gameplay elements focus more on survival, despite the fact that the exploration is used within the game when exploring the island & various optional tombs. It's also the 1st game in the series to have multiplayer & the 1st game to be published by Square Enix, after latter's acquisition of Eidos Interactive in 2009. After a delayed release from late 2012 to the month of March 2013, Tomb Raider received much anticipation & hype. The game received much acclaim from critics, they praised the graphics, the gameplay, performance of Camilla Luddington as Lara & Lara's characterization & development with many critics agreeing that Tomb Raider is a solid & much needed reboot of the franchise.
