The original Chicken Shoot was launched in 2003 as a Flash game, it was moderately successful on the internet & was mostly well received by gamers on various Flash gaming websites and was one of those first flash games to be playable on the Net Channel browser for Wii, as it employed the Wii Remote to aim & take out chickens which flew all over the gaming screen. People believe that the original Chicken Shoot game assisted in popularizing internet games that can be played on Wii. Chicken Shoot 2 is quite similar to Country Varmint Hunter. The Chicken Shoot got unanimously negative responses. The game has a score of 26% on Game Rankings at present. The GameSpot termed it as Duck Hunt for those who are idiots & added that the constant shooting had no objective. Nintendo DS version of Chicken Shoot 2 received a score of 17% on Metacritic.
